Privacy policy

Short version: this site does not track you. The only personal information I receive is what you choose to send through the contact form.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

Who I am

This is the personal website of Daniel Nguyen, a software engineer in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am responsible for the personal information described on this page.

What this site collects

Nothing automatically. There are no analytics, no advertising or tracking cookies, and no fingerprinting. The site's fonts are hosted on the site itself, so your browser does not contact Google or any other font provider.

The contact form

If you use the form, you give me your name, email address and message. I use them only to read your message and reply to you. I do not sell them, share them for marketing, or add you to a mailing list.

Who handles the form

The form is processed by Web3Forms (opens in a new tab), a form-handling service. It receives what you type and forwards it to my email inbox. It may also process technical data, such as your IP address, to block spam, under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab). After that, your message is stored in my email account.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may record technical data such as IP addresses when it serves pages, as described in GitHub's privacy statement (opens in a new tab). I do not receive or use that data.

My resume

The downloadable resume PDF contains the contact details I chose to publish. Nothing is recorded about who downloads it.

This site links to GitHub, LinkedIn and my project demos. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not cover them.

How long I keep your message

I keep a message for as long as it takes to reply and follow up, and normally delete it about 12 months after our last exchange.

Your choices

You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Send a message through the contact form with the subject or first line "Privacy request", and I will respond. I aim to follow Canadian privacy law, including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act.

Changes

If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top of this page.
